Genesis Magma Racing continues to strengthen its presence in Esports and Sim Racing through the launch of GMR Esports, the team's official Esports division, and the introduction of the new GMR Esports Series, developed in collaboration with Le Mans Ultimate and Traxion. The initiative reflects Genesis Magma Racing's ambition to connect with a broader audience while creating new opportunities for emerging Sim Racing talent.

Introducing GMR Esports

GMR Esports brings together a roster of experienced European and Korean drivers competing in official events across Le Mans Ultimate, the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The team competes using the virtual GMR-001 Hypercar, mirroring Genesis Magma Racing's real-world endurance racing programme.

Led by former Formula Sim Racing World Champion and Virtual Endurance World Championship Hypercar winner Collin Spork, GMR Esports combines elite Sim Racing expertise with real-world Motorsport experience. Alongside his role as a driver, Spork also serves as the team's Technical and Development Lead. The line-up is further strengthened by experienced competitors including Jesper Pedersen, a Nissan GT Academy alumni and Endurance eRacing World Champion, and Jernej Simončič, one of Sim Racing's most accomplished endurance and Formula competitors.

The programme also features a talented group of Korean drivers, including Hyukjin Kwon, Gyumin Kim and Youngchan Kim, who combine Sim Racing experience with real-world racing achievements through the Hyundai N Festival and international competition. The international roster combines proven success, technical expertise and emerging talent, creating a strong foundation for the future of the programme.

The GMR Esports Series

Building on the launch of GMR Esports, Genesis Magma Racing has introduced the GMR Esports Series, a new competition designed to identify and develop the next generation of Sim Racing talent.

Hosted on Le Mans Ultimate, the series begins with eight weeks of qualifying events across free-to-play circuits, giving competitors the opportunity to prove themselves behind the wheel of the GMR-001 Hypercar. The strongest performers will progress to the main championship, where drivers will face a mix of sprint and endurance races, as well as unique wildcard challenges designed to test adaptability and consistency

The ultimate prize goes beyond a trophy. The winner of the GMR Esports Series will earn the opportunity to join GMR Esports as an official driver for the 2027 season, creating a pathway from competition participant to manufacturer-supported Esports racer.

Driving the Future of Sim Racing

The launch of GMR Esports and the GMR Esports Series demonstrates Genesis Magma Racing's commitment to growing its Esports ecosystem while providing talented drivers with a platform to showcase their skills on an international stage. As the programme continues to evolve, it further strengthens the connection between Motorsport, Esports, and a new generation of racing fans.

Beyond supporting the growth of Genesis Magma Racing, STRYKE Solutions manage both the GMR Esports and the GMR Esports Series projects on behalf of Genesis Magma Racing, helping drive the project's commercial, operational and strategic development. As the programme continues to expand, STRYKE remains committed to creating opportunities that connect Sim Racing talent, Esports communities and the wider Motorsport ecosystem.
